More Than Counseling

5201 Blue Lagoon Drive
#811
Miami, FL 33126

Do I pay for parking?
That’s a nope! It’s free. I’ll validate the ticket you obtain at the gate. (wink wink)
Do you take insurance?

I’m currently accepting some insurances, yet I am transitioning to becoming an out-of-network provider.

For further information, contact me. We’ll explore options together.

Do you accept out-of-network benefits?
A definite Yes!!! You can always contact your insurance carrier and ask about your out-of-network benefits, as most plans offer a discount or some kind of reimbursement. I can provide you with a “superbill” for you to submit to your insurance provider.
What are your service rates without insurance?

Don’t despair; options are available, whether you are exploring self-pay or considering out-of-network benefits. Give me a call, and we’ll explore the best option for you. Some clients prefer self-pay because your therapy experience is more private. None of your records, diagnostic information, or authorization for services goes through insurance.

Please feel free to contact me directly for rates and answer any questions you might have.

How long does a session last?
Sessions last between 45 and 60 minutes. You can extend your sessions in advance, by 30 minutes, for an additional $100 (only if you’re self-pay). Insurance plans only cover a max of 60 min.
What type of therapy do you provide?

I would say an outside-the-box style… and definitely, more than just talk.

I am eclectic, drawing from many different approaches to therapy and personal journeys, plant medicines, and alternative modalities. Clinically, I’m a huge fan of the narrative approach, positive and energy psychology, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and others.

If you are open to just alternative modalities, I can also offer services that consider those perspectives. Curious? Let’s connect!

What does a session feel like?
It feels like an inviting conversation. You’ll get to share what’s standing out for you. Based on our exploration, we’ll incorporate exercises that resonate with the moment and topic at hand.
Can you describe your style?

Real talk, bold perspectives, sprinkled with smiles, genuine concern, and love.

I’ll offer you devil’s advocate questions and role-play answers.

It’s all about meeting you where you are and directing you to where you want to go.

Who are your typical clients?

I support adults (ages 18+) seeking individual therapy sessions. I assist individuals regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, labels, or heritage. I’ve worked with many different cultural backgrounds and preferences. If you are curious about me, I am Hispanic and fluent in English and Spanish.

I do not offer couples or family sessions, but if inviting a loved one will help you with a specific goal, they are welcome to join you for a session or two.

What kinds of issues do you have experience treating?

I have experience treating symptoms of anxiety, depression, anger, relationship issues (e.g., breakups, separation, divorce, infidelity, open relationships, parent-child dynamics, and sexual abuse), and issues related to self-esteem and self-concept.

I’ve also treated individuals with PTSD from the death or loss of a loved one.

In addition, I’ve worked with first-time and experienced parents dealing with post-partum depression, anxiety, and mood disorders as they adjust to that new chapter in their lives. I also have experience helping individuals through various life stressors, including pregnancy, abortion, and miscarriage.

Finally, I’ve worked with individuals dealing with substance recovery and the isolation of incarceration.

What else do I need to know to make the most out of working with you?
Come as you are. That’s it. Let’s chat, and you’ll realize there’s nothing we can’t address.
Would it be weird if I cried in session?

Not-at-all! I welcome you to experience the freedom of letting your tears just flow. I also say, ‘Why hold it in when it’s like pee for the eyes?”

You can express yourself without restrictions or the need to apologize. I’ll have tissues next to your chair in case you need them. Crying is a form of release.

Anything else?
I love hugs, so if you’re comfortable, know I’ll gladly receive it.
