Anxiety

Your cup is full… and this has become your normal.

It’s late, and you’re in bed. You want to stop thinking, but your mind has a life of its own.

The thoughts race – about anything and everything.

Tossing and turning, you ask yourself, “Why am I overthinking this?!”

So, you get up… and pace… only to lie back down and try it again.

And when you finally get to sleep, you wake up with that “ugh” feeling.

No wonder you don’t feel like yourself!

The routine feels the same day and night, except for the gastrointestinal disruptions, restless leg, hyperventilating, sweats, and ant-like sensations in your hands or feet.

Damn panic attacks!

Driving suddenly becomes worrisome when you think of having a panic attack on the road.

What if I crash? What if I faint? What if I have a heart attack?

You know each episode eventually ends, yet the dread of a heart attack remains.

Your anxiety is trying to deliver a message.

The message is often that you’re ready for change, to shift from symptoms to freedom. The message is about claiming your power back by exploring your needs and how your actions match your wants.

Ana* decided to try therapy after acknowledging she no longer ‘could’ drive anywhere too far from home or if it involves driving alone or to a new place.

She cried due to frustration of feeling her life had become restricted due to the constant dread of experiencing a panic attack. Her family didn’t understand. Her partner argued with her every time she declined an outing or a new adventure.

Through sessions with me, Ana uncovered that her symptoms revealed the fear of lacking support. She wanted to feel supported through her experiences in a way that made sense to her. Ana also understood that her sense of control had been distorted over time due to difficult relationships throughout her formative years. Ana’s anxiety was inviting her to look ‘further’ and process her experiences through a different lens, allowing her to revise her options and personal rules around her needs.

Ana’s anxiety symptoms felt paralyzing and exhausting until she began to understand them.

Are you ready to understand your symptoms?

I’m here to help.

I can help you realize what’s behind your anxiety. And when you understand the source of the fear, you can overcome it and your anxiety.

Identifying the source…

You are the expert in your life, so there’s no way to go wrong. We’ll explore how past imprints stand out as sources of fear or trauma. We’ll address events that carry an emotional charge to assess for sources. By identifying sources, you’ll then assess the narrative around those imprints.

Exploring collaboratively…

Perspectives will be shared for you to assess the side effects and consequences within a present-safe space. You’ll first engage in grounding exercises each time you decide to redefine your options, given the understanding gathered from the causes of the anxiety.

Shifting your self-perception…

In sessions, you’ll also learn to differentiate yourself from experiences that provided emotions around fear, which developed into your symptoms. You are not anxious; you are so much more than the symptoms around a situation(s) in your life. You experience anxiety given certain imprints.

Discovering a new sense of self…

Acknowledging your independence will open up multiple options that were not being considered before your understanding. Your wholeness will be remembered and activated by validating your strengths, skills, and abilities.

Giving you new capabilities…

A renewed sense of self allows you to expand your horizons. Shifting your rules and restrictions provides for a better quality of life. A life that makes sense and serves you.

Renewing your confidence…

Through our sessions, you’ll build upon your updated self-concept and esteem. Acknowledging your possibilities and establishing new habits will support this new chapter of your life.
